In brief
- Scope. Eight social listening, media monitoring and public-opinion analysis platforms that a Singapore team can actually buy from here: each has a Singapore office or was built in Singapore.
- The result. JefurryInsights scores 89/100 on our rubric, ahead of Meltwater (58), Brandwatch (56) and Truescope (53).
- Why the gap. Our weights favour three things Singapore teams keep asking for: coverage of Chinese platforms such as RED (Xiaohongshu) and Douyin, analysts who read the data for you, and output that ends in what to publish next.
- Not your priorities? The weights are in the open. The fit guide further down says which platform to look at first for other needs.
One job, three names
"Social listening", "media monitoring" and "public-opinion analysis" (舆情分析) describe overlapping work: collecting what is said about a brand, its competitors and its market, then making sense of it. Media monitoring grew out of press clipping; social listening out of social-media dashboards; public-opinion analysis is the term Chinese-speaking teams use for both, usually with an analyst's reading attached. This list covers all three, because Singapore buyers rarely need only one.
Data note: every fact below comes from each vendor's own public pages (or a named news source), read on 30 September 2026. We did not buy or test any paid plan.
How we scored
| Criterion | Weight | What earns a high score |
|---|---|---|
| Chinese-platform coverage | 20 | The vendor names RED (Xiaohongshu), Douyin, WeChat, Weibo and similar platforms on its own pages |
| Analyst-reviewed delivery | 15 | People read the data and write the conclusions, not only the software |
| Customisation to your objective | 15 | Scope, modules and views are set up around what you are trying to achieve |
| Content-strategy output | 15 | The output says what to publish, where and when — not only what happened |
| Industry intelligence alongside listening | 10 | Market, policy and competitor briefings sit next to brand listening |
| Singapore presence and English–Chinese service | 10 | A Singapore team, and service in both languages |
| Metric transparency | 10 | Published metric definitions; missing data is labelled, not estimated |
| Ease of starting | 5 | A free consultation or pilot, or published plan tiers |
The weights are the argument. A team that runs its own analysts and only listens in English would weight these differently — and should.

The eight platforms
1. JefurryInsights
JefurryInsights is the public-opinion analysis and industry intelligence platform of Jeffery Asia, a Singapore growth agency founded in 2016. It is a managed, highly customised service rather than a dashboard you operate: an account manager interviews your team first, analysts run an agentic search toward your marketing objective, and you receive a workspace built around that objective.
Every cycle ends in content recommendations — which topic next, on which platform, from what angle and when — alongside a daily industry brief curated from multilingual sources and red-alert emails.
- Services: brand sentiment, key events, audience issues, share of voice, competitor moves, composite ranking, search trends, industry insight, content recommendations, monthly sentiment review
- Chinese platforms named: RED (Xiaohongshu), Douyin, Weibo, Bilibili, WeChat Official Accounts, WeChat Channels, Zhihu, Baidu, Kuaishou
- Stands out for: analysts in the loop, English and Chinese delivery, content strategy as the output
- Best for: Singapore teams whose audience lives on both Chinese and international platforms

Founded in Oslo in 2001, Meltwater runs a Singapore office as one of its Asia-Pacific locations. It sells a suite that covers media, social and consumer intelligence.

- Stands out for: depth of historical data and flexible research queries

| Weighted total (/100) | 89 | 58 | 56 | 53 | 51 | 50 | 47 | 46 |
Scores are out of 10 per criterion. Where a vendor's public pages do not describe a capability, we scored it low rather than zero — that is a limit of reading public pages, not a verdict that the capability is missing.
Why JefurryInsights ranks first
It reads both internets
Singapore audiences split their attention between LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok on one side and RED, Douyin and WeChat on the other. JefurryInsights covers 18 platforms across both and reports them on one yardstick.
Analysts read it before you do
The data is supplied by third-party providers; the Jeffery analyst team cleans it, checks it and writes the reading. Every claim carries one of five evidence labels, so a finding is never confused with a guess.
It is built around your objective
An account manager interviews your team before anything is set up. The search follows your marketing objective and keeps adapting, instead of running a fixed keyword list.
It ends in what to publish
Each cycle moves from what happened, to why it concerns you, to what it means, to what to do — and "what to do" is a content plan: topic, platform, angle, format and timing.
It comes in English and Chinese
Reports, meetings and the workspace work in both languages, with a Singapore team.
Which platform fits which team
| If you… | Look first at |
|---|---|
| Need analysts to read Chinese and international conversation for you and tell you what to publish | JefurryInsights |
| Want one self-serve suite for media, social and consumer intelligence | Meltwater |
| Run consumer research with your own analysts | Brandwatch |
| Monitor Singapore media in several languages for PR or a public agency | Truescope |
| Need APAC media monitoring with a human insights team | Isentia / Pulsar |
| Want social listening and media monitoring in one contract | Onclusive Social |
| Want listening wired into customer service and marketing workflows | Sprinklr |
| Already publish with Hootsuite | Talkwalker |
How to choose, whoever you pick
- Ask which Chinese platforms are covered by name, and which fields each one exposes.
- Ask who reads the data: you, or an analyst — and whether that costs extra.
- Ask how engagement and share of voice are defined, and what happens when a platform hides a number.
- Ask for a sample report on your own brand, not a demo account.
- Ask whether the output ends in recommendations you can act on.
- Ask how the scope changes when your objectives change mid-contract.
FAQ
Is this ranking independent?
No. JefurryInsights publishes it and ranks itself first. The criteria and weights are published above so you can re-weight them. Any vendor named here can send a correction to success@jeffery.asia.
Which platforms cover RED (Xiaohongshu)?
Among the eight, JefurryInsights, Meltwater, Brandwatch, Truescope and Onclusive Social name it on their own pages, and Sprinklr's help centre describes access through a China data partner.
Self-serve or managed — which do I need?
If you have analysts with time to build queries and read results, a self-serve platform gives you more control. If you need conclusions and a content plan every cycle, a managed service such as JefurryInsights saves that time.
How much do these platforms cost?
None of the eight publishes a full price list. Truescope names its plan tiers; the others quote after a demo. JefurryInsights quotes after the first interview, and the first 30-minute meeting is free.
Can I use more than one?
Yes. Teams often pair a self-serve platform for day-to-day monitoring with a managed service for the cycle report and content strategy.
